Our kidneys are also responsible for our bone health and have a role with heart health, so protecting them is a life depending thing. Kidneys can cleanse themselves if we drink enough fluids like water and juice.

But if we consume too many bad things like sugary drinks, sodas, and coffee, our kidneys can become less potent as they should be. This is why it’s important to do a good kidney cleansing every now and then.

A simple way to cleanse yourself is to STOP drinking sodas, teas, juices, etc  for a least a week. Yes this may be a bit hard for some of you, but if you stick to it you will benefit from it greatly. Drink at least 10 glasses of water each day and stay away from high fat and sugary substances.

Here are 3 kidney cleansing recipes that can help you out!

1. Vegetable cleanse

Get 4 stalks of celery, 3 sprigs of parsley, 1 cucumber and half a lemon. Then add some water and can mix it in a blender to make it more like a smoothie. You can drink it in 2 parts, one part for breakfast and another part in the midafternoon. That way the veggies will be in yours system throughout the day. This is also very good for you so you can consume this on a regular basis.

2. Fruit Cleanse

 Get 2 apples with the peels on them, 4-6 slices of watermelon and some water. Now do the same thing as you would have done with the veggie mix and blend them. You can add some ice cubes to make it more of a slushy type. It tastes better this way than a veggie one would for obvious reasons. Once again you can make enough to drink it throughout the day.

3.Kidney cleansing tea

There are many ways to make some tea that will benefit your kidneys. One thing to remember is that celery and watermelon are awesome for kidney function and can be utilized in a tea as well.

Measure out 1 cup of water per serving of either celery or watermelon seed tea and set it in a boiling pot.

Crush 1tsp of celery or watermelon seeds with the bottom of a glass. Next put the seeds in a measuring cup and let them sit there. Put the boiling water into the measuring cup and let the tea steep.  You can let it steep for around 10-20 minutes depending on how strong you like your tea.  Once it’s done you can put it through a strainer and in a cup and drink as necessary.
